FC Liverpool: Angeld Road apparently not suitable as a stadium for the European Championship

The home venue of FC Liverpool, the Anfield Road, is obviously not suitable as a venue for a game at the European Championship 2028, which may take place in the United Kingdom and Ireland. For a curious reason, as the English tabloid newspaper Sun reports. According to the UEFA, a playing field must have the fixed dimensions of 105 meters in length and 68 meters wide in large tournaments. In the legendary arena in Liverpool, however, the length is only 101 meters. Due to the proximity to the stands behind the respective gates, this cannot be expanded by the four meters required. However, the new home of city rival FC Everton may be considered. The construction of the approximately 500 million euro Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium started in 2021. There is still no official date for completion.
