We still remember how we turned RTL as a child on Saturday morning and saw a worm fought against evil in a space suit — without knowing that it is a video game figure. Earthworm Jim appeared in 1994 for the SNES and Mega Drive and a year later followed a 23 episodes comprehensive corner series, which had also made it into German television. This was followed by three more games, then it was quiet. Allegedly, Earthworm Jim 4 has been in development for ages, but we have not heard of it for a long time. For this Interplay has now announced a new animation series.
How exactly the factory is called and when it appears is not yet known. Although the official website is Beyondthegroovy.com, but whether that will be the official subtitle, we do not know. It also contains only a video in which Earthworm Jim itself is interviewed. The style knows before and also reveals roughly what it goes in the series: Jim is looking for his true home: the earth. In the Universe of Earthworm Jim, this is a mythical planet on which there is more than enough delicious earth for the protagonist. As the upper picture reveals, he does not travel alone, but accompanied by two conspecifics and a large bull. More is not known about those characters.
The new Earthworm Jim series is produced and written by K. Michel Parade, which has so far not really made any namely. It is supported by Aaron Billet, producer of the documentary Disney Insider. For the animations, the Studio Passion Pictures is responsible under the direction of Marc Odin Bordeaux, which, for example, worked on Miniseries to Ant-Man and Rocket and Groot by the Guardians of the Galaxy.
