Bandai Namco Announces His "Gundam Metavese" project: Games, Animals and Awareness of Ecological Issues
Last month, Bandai Namco announced investing the equivalent of 113 million euros in a methaunch project to help value its main licenses. The Japanese group specifies its ambitions and announces its " GUNDAMETAVERSE ", a methavers bringing together several initiatives articulated around the Gundam license, resulting from the animation series of Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hajime Yatate which stages the imposing methas of fighting.
Concretely, this "gundam metaverse" must take the form of an Hub online based on the Gundam Base Virtual World Test since last year in Japan. The Hub must connect various virtual universes, as so many "spatial colonies" welcoming online communities (the lovers of the license, the partners of the group, its employees or different communities around the world) around different subjects thematic.
These "spatial colonies" must make the link between different online games * * based on the Gundam license. Bandai Namco mentions for example the FPS Gundam Evolution and the Arena game Gundam Battle Operation 2 , based on 6VS.6 matches. Metals must integrate a "ESPOR" colony that will serve as a framework for the competitions of both online games. In the same spirit, the metares must reserve a space with audiovisual productions ** that adapt the license. And to announce the Mobile animation series follows Gundam: Witch of Mercury which will be broadcast in Japan next October and in the rest of the world through local partners.
Perhaps more surprising, Bandai Namco also intends to use its metals to sensitize users with ecological issues of the future . The group stresses that the science fiction license already evokes issues of "overcrowding, environmental destruction and spatial colonization". Metacles must therefore integrate a program to bring together "experts in any field, research centers, inventors and leading groups who sincerely seek to bring innovation for a future society based on the theme of the universal century for the humanity ". Program partners still need to be identified, but the fruit of their reflection of a universal century for humanity is intended to be presented in 2025 as part of the Gundam Pavilion of Osaka's World Expo.
While waiting to discover how the Méchas will save the planet, we will remember that Gundam Evolution and Gundam Battle Operation 2 are one and the other expected this year on consoles and PCs (via Steam), distributed in Free-to-Play.
